LivePress Settings

Last Updated: Dec 05, 2013 11:48AM PST
Once you have followed the LivePress installation instructions, you can start a live blog post right away.  However, there are also some additional features (optional) available in LivePress via the LivePress Settings page.

Access the LivePress Settings page via Settings --> LivePress in your blog dashboard.  You have already established your Connection to LivePress when you completed installation, but you will see two additional sections of available features.

Appearance
  • Choose if you want to show your updates from the real-time editor from Top (newest on top) or Bottom (oldest on top)
  • You can also choose what readers will see when you push an update; a pop-up, an audio chime, and/or have the screen automatically scroll to the new update
  • Don't forget to click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom when you are finished

Remote Publishing

The Remote Publishing section contains options for how to post to/from your live blog from outside of Wordpress.
  • Selecting the first box will allow authors to publish updates to a live blog post from their Twitter account (without being logged into Wordpress)
  • Selecting the second box will allow authors to publish updates to a live blog post via an SMS text message (without being logged into Wordpress)
  • The third option lets you authorize a Twitter account to tie into your blog
  • First, you must allow authors to publish via Twitter.  Once that setting is enabled, click "Authorize" and follow the on-screen prompts to authorize the Twitter app.  Now all live blog posts will also post to this Twitter account automatically.
  • Don't forget to click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom when you are finished
